The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly in collaboration with UNDP organized a three-day training workshop on extreme violence prevention and terrorism for women and youth -led MSMES in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality.
This training aimed at letting traders know their civil right and understand conflicts prevention and management and to prevent violent extremism and terrorism in the Municipality and their working environment.
The program was to broadened their understanding that, violent extremism is not an ordinary conflict that can be solved locally. extreme violent is very crucial and can take life and destroy families. People who are involved with this violent are funded by organizations. Mostly, terrorist use women and small-scale businesses to get their information.
This three days’ workshop broadened the understanding of participant to develop the ‘UBUNTU’ spirit as citizens because “I am because you are, and you are because I am”.
They were also made to understand a lot about terrorism. and know that, when they see people moving up and down without doing anything specific, they as traders must be careful and have courage to report suspected people to the nearby security.
