The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly has taken decisive action against road encroachers in a collaborative effort to ensure public safety and proper road usage. This exercise was carried out in partnership with the Road Safety Authority, Ghana Highways Authority, and Urban Roads, with support from the Ghana Police Service and Ghana Fire Service.
The primary objective of the exercise was to remove traders and individuals conducting business along the roadsides within the Municipality. Authorities emphasized that trading along major roads poses significant risks, including accidents and congestion, which could lead to unforeseen tragedies in the future.
Officials urged affected individuals to relocate to designated trading areas to prevent further encroachment and ensure smooth traffic flow. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance road safety and urban planning within the Municipality.
