The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly, through its Municipal Planning and Coordinating Unit (MPCU), held its Second Quarter Meeting for 2025 at the Municipal Assembly Hall.

The meeting was chaired by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Fred B. Kpodo, who, in his opening address, emphasized the importance of periodic meetings in tracking the performance of development initiatives and ensuring effective planning and coordination.

Mr. Kpodo stressed that the MPCU remains a crucial platform for aligning sectoral activities with the overall development goals of the Municipality.

The Municipal Planning Officer, Mr. Louis Aggrey, who serves as Secretary to the MPCU, took members through the minutes of the previous meeting and provided updates on the implementation status of earlier resolutions. Corrections and confirmations were made, setting the tone for meaningful deliberations.

Members discussed in detail the progress made in the implementation of development projects across various sectors, including education, health, infrastructure, water and sanitation, and agriculture. It was noted that while significant progress had been made in some areas, a few projects faced challenges such as funding delays, logistical constraints, and contractor performance issues.

The Planning Unit also provided an update on the ongoing preparation of the new Medium-Term Development Plan (2026–2029), in line with the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) guidelines.

Participants were encouraged to continue providing relevant data and input to enrich the plan and ensure it reflects the developmental needs and aspirations of the various communities within the Municipality.

Additionally, the committee discussed the implementation status of the District Development Data Platform (DDDP), a digital tool designed to enhance data management, planning, and reporting at the local level.

The meeting concluded with a strong call for enhanced inter-departmental collaboration, continuous stakeholder engagement, and timely delivery of reports to support evidence-based planning and decision-making.
