SEFWI WIAWSO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY HOLDS 3RD ORDINARY GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING.


The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly held its 3rd ordinary General Assembly meeting of the 2nd Session of the 7th Assembly on Thursday 28th October, 2022 at the Assembly Hall. The Presiding Member Hon. Martha Awuah in her opening remarks called on all to make meaningful contributions to ensure the needed growth and development for the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality.


In presenting his sessional address, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Louis Owusu-Agyepong, highlighted on programmes, projects and activities of the Assembly and some Government Policies. He also touched on the Assembly’s Revenue Management and Performance for the year 2021.

The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive indicated that, as part of Government’s vision and commitment to strengthen Local Governance in the various MMDAs across the Country, motorbikes have been given to MMDAs to be distributed to Hon. Members. He further stated that, in the case of the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly, the motorbikes would be given to Assembly Members immediately after the meeting and entreated Hon. Members to ensure proper usage and good maintenance of the motorbikes to achieve it intended purposes.


Approval of draft 2022 Annual Composite Budget and Draft 2022 Annual Action Plan /UDAP

The Municipal Chief Executive led the meeting and presented the draft 2022 Annual Composite Budget and Draft 2022 Annual Action Plan /UDAP. After the presentation, members deliberated on the documents and unanimously approved both the plan and the budget as a working document for the year 2022.


Presentation of Draft Bye-Law

A presentation of the Assembly’s Draft Bye Laws was made by Assistant Director I, Mr. Ebenezer Teye Quaynor to the House on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive. After effective deliberations on the Draft Bye Law, Hon. Isaac Addae moved a motion for the acceptance of the Assembly’s Draft Bye Law as a working document and was seconded by Hon, Joseph Agyemang.

The presiding member and the Hon. MCE thanked members for their candid contributions and cooperation throughout the meeting and also urged them to continue in their quest to bring the needed development to their respective Electoral Areas.
