The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly has held a Finance and Administration Committee meeting as part of its efforts to ensure effective planning, accountability, and transparency in the management of public resources. The meeting took place at the Assembly’s Hall and was chaired by Hon. Alexander Adjei Nkrumah.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Nkrumah stressed the importance of the committee’s work in shaping sound financial policies and administrative decisions that drive development for the Municipality. He encouraged all members to actively participate and offer constructive input on the matters tabled for discussion.

Mr. Christian Nkuah, the Municipal Budget Analyst, read the agenda and led the discussions. He provided detailed insights into each item and guided the committee through the deliberations. The meeting agenda focused on three key areas: the review and adoption of the previous meeting minutes, the proposed sitting allowances for Hon. Assembly Members, and discussions on the 2025 Budget Review and Supplementary Budget.

During the review of the previous minutes, members took the opportunity to reflect on decisions taken in earlier sessions, monitored progress on implemented recommendations, and clarified pending issues.

A major highlight of the meeting was the discussion on proposed sitting allowances for Assembly Members. Committee members deliberated on the fairness and sustainability of the new proposed allowance, taking into consideration the financial strength of the Assembly and the need to motivate members to effectively discharge their duties.

Finally, the meeting focused on the 2025 Budget Review and Supplementary Budget. Mr. Nkuah presented a preliminary outlook on revenue performance and expenditure trends. He emphasized areas requiring additional funding and adjustments in line with current development priorities.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all present to uphold financial prudence and work collaboratively to improve service delivery and local governance in the Municipality.
