STAKEHOLDERS MEETING ON THE GHANA SECONDARY CITY PROJECT

As part of measures to ensure smooth implementation of the Ghana Secondary City support programme in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality, the Assembly organized a stakeholders meeting on Wednesday 24th November, 2021 at the Municipal Assembly Hall. Issues discussed included the status of the implementation of the first phase of the project (Construction of 100unit market stalls and 20 lockable stores) impact of the project on stakeholders’ safeguard issues, and discussion of the implementation of the second phase of the project (160-unit market stalls and 20 lockable stores at Dwenase Market).

The projects to be implemented in five phases is estimated to cost $4,000,000.00 with funding from the World Bank. The project which began in 2019 will elapse in 2023.
