GIZ, Western North RCC Train SWMA PRCC Members on the PRCC Manual for MMDAs

Western North Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) ), in collaboration with (GIZ, has organised a training programme for members of the Public Relations and Complaints Committee (PRCC) and selected key officers of the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly on the PRCC Manual for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs).

The training, held on 26th October 2026, was aimed at equipping participants with the knowledge and skills required to effectively implement the manual and strengthen public relations, complaints management, and citizen engagement within the Assembly.

The Western North Regional Human Resource Manager, Mrs. Akua Gyekyewaa Antwi, facilitated the training, guiding participants through the key provisions of the manual and highlighting the roles and responsibilities of PRCC members in promoting effective communication between the Assembly and the public.

Key areas covered included the procedures for receiving and addressing public complaints, effective communication with citizens, and mechanisms for promoting transparency, accountability, and responsiveness in local governance.

The training also provided participants with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the manual and appreciate the importance of establishing effective channels through which residents can communicate their concerns, seek clarification, and obtain timely responses from the Assembly.

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly is expected to apply the knowledge gained from the training to enhance its public relations practices, improve complaints-handling mechanisms, and promote responsive and citizen-centred governance throughout the Municipality.
