The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly has successfully held a town hall meeting at Dwenase to engage residents on developmental priorities, ongoing projects, and plans for the Municipality’s continued growth.

The meeting brought together residents, traditional authorities, Heads of Departments and Units, and other key stakeholders to assess the progress of development initiatives, identify challenges, and discuss strategies for addressing the needs of the community. The platform also enabled residents to raise concerns, ask questions, and offer suggestions directly to the Assembly.

Key issues discussed included infrastructure development, water and sanitation, education, healthcare delivery, and opportunities for local economic growth.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, delivered a detailed presentation on the Assembly’s major achievements, ongoing projects, and planned interventions aimed at improving the living conditions of residents across the Municipality.

Following the presentation, the MCE, together with the various Heads of Departments and Units, responded to questions raised by community members, providing explanations and assurances on matters of concern. Their active participation highlighted the Assembly’s collective commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsive local governance.

Representatives from Friends of the Nation and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) were also present to share findings from their independent assessment of development projects undertaken within the Municipality. They reportedly validated the information presented by the MCE regarding the projects and awarded the Municipal Chief Executive a score of 4 out of 5 based on their assessment.

In his closing remarks, Hon. Dominic Gyasi underscored the importance of citizen participation in the local governance process and urged residents to maintain close collaboration with the Assembly. He emphasized that sustained cooperation between the Assembly and community members remains essential to achieving inclusive and sustainable development throughout the Municipality.
