Kinross Chirano Gold Mines Limited has constructed an ultra-modern Library and ICT Centre as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility to support education in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality.
Kinross Chirano Gold Mines Limited has been a supportive company in terms of community development in both Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality and Sefwi Wiawso Municipality. Sefwi Subiri and Chirano in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality has benefited from the ultra-modern Library and ICT Centre projects.
Hon Louis Owusu Agyepong, MCE for Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly joined the General Manager of Kinross Chirano Gold Mines Limited, Andriano, to commission an ultra-modern Library and ICT Centre at Sefwi Wiawso.
Hon Louis Owusu Agyepong extended his heartfelt gratitude to Kinross Chirano Gold Mines for the support they usually offer to the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality.
Hon Agyepong said the previous library was nothing to write home about until Chirano Gold Mines approached the Assembly with the intention of putting up such edifice to support education in the Municipality.
Moreover, he urged the Municipal Director of Education to take good care of the facility and make sure that it serves its the purpose of aiding our future leaders to acquire knowledge and get a good education in Information Technology.
Mr. Andriano, the General Manager of Kinross Chirano Gold Mines Limited advised the student to make good use of the facility and also make sure to put any item at the facility in good shape for their own interest.
