Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly commissions six projects in the Municipality

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly on Monday, 5th October, 2026 commissioned a number of development projects across various communities in the Municipality, marking a significant step towards improving access to education, healthcare and other essential services.


The projects were commissioned at separate ceremonies held in the respective communities within the same day. The commissioning ceremonies were performed by the Member of Parliament, Hon. Kofi Benteh Afful, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, and Nananom of the various beneficiary communities.


The ceremonies brought together the NDC Constituency Chairman, Mr. Patrick Quainoo, officials of the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly, as well as representatives from the Ghana Education Service and Ghana Health Service, among other stakeholders.


The projects commissioned included the construction of a 1No. CHPS Compound with a three-bedroom apartment at Essakrom-Kojina, aimed at improving access to healthcare services within the community.


At Kwasiaddaekrom, a 2-unit Kindergarten (KG) block with an office and store was commissioned to provide an improved learning environment for young children.

The Assembly also commissioned a 3-unit classroom block with an office, store, toilet facilities and changing room at Nyamenddae. The project was constructed and furnished to enhance teaching and learning in the community.


At Pewodie, a completed 3-unit classroom block with an office, store, toilet and changing rooms was also commissioned, further expanding educational infrastructure in the area.

In Bosomoiso, the Assembly commissioned a STEM Education Centre to support science, technology, engineering and mathematics education, as well as a drilled and mechanised borehole to improve access to potable water for residents.


The commissioning of the projects demonstrates the Assembly’s continued efforts to provide critical infrastructure and improve the quality of education, healthcare and basic services for residents across the Municipality.


The Assembly reiterated the importance of community ownership and maintenance of the facilities to ensure that the projects serve their intended purposes and benefit residents for many years to come.
