Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly has supported the persons with disability with tools and materials to improve their livelihoods. The items presented includes chest freezers, power slashers, power tillers, popcorn machines, fufu machines, hair dryer, and Mason tools and equipment. Apart from these items, cash grants were given to support PWD's with the medical bills and school fees.
Speaking for the Municipal Assembly the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Louis Owusu Agyapong implored the beneficiaries to utilize the equipment to make the best profits out of them because as they have received these, focus would be turned toward other PWD's who had not received any of the grant.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Joseph Baah-Darkoh used the opportunity to sensitive those present on the use of the Disability Fund and how it was accessed. The transparency displayed was well applauded.
Other officials present were the Head of Social Welfare and Community Development; Mr. Godfred Baah-Dwase, President of the Ghana Federation of the Disabled; Hon. Kwaku Asante Afful and members of the Various Associations of Disabled.
