The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly on Wednesday, 6th August 2025, hosted a key stakeholders meeting as part of preparations for its new tourism and business promotion project, “The Cocoa City Experience.” The meeting was held at the Municipal Assembly Hall.

This innovative initiative, which is the brainchild of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon.

Dominic Gyasi, seeks to position Sefwi Wiawso Municipality as a premier tourist destination while creating a vibrant platform for local business growth. The maiden edition of the annual event is scheduled to be launched later this year, bringing together cultural exhibitions, cocoa heritage tours, business fairs, and entertainment to showcase the Municipality’s unique offerings.

The engagement brought together key partners, business leaders, traditional authorities, the media, and community representatives, who shared ideas and pledged their support towards making the event a success. Participants commended the Assembly for spearheading a project that celebrates the area’s cocoa heritage while opening new opportunities for tourism and trade.

Speaking at the meeting, the Municipal Chief Executive emphasized that the “Cocoa City Experience” will not only boost tourism but also stimulate local economic activities, promote cultural pride, and create new income streams for residents. He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to inclusive development, stressing that the success of such initiatives relies heavily on stakeholder collaboration.
