The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly has organised a one-day capacity-building workshop for staff on the District Development Data Platform (DDDP) to enhance their capacity to effectively use the platform for documenting and accessing development information.
The District Development Data Platform serves as a centralised platform that brings district development data and related services together in one place. It enables Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to upload and document their programmes, projects, activities and other development-related information, while also providing access to official development data from districts across the country.
The workshop brought together staff from various departments and units of the Assembly and focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills required to effectively navigate the platform and upload relevant information on the activities and interventions undertaken by the Assembly.
Participants were taken through the various features and functionalities of the platform, including the processes involved in capturing, uploading, updating and accessing information on the Assembly’s development activities.
The training emphasized the importance of ensuring that information uploaded onto the platform is accurate, complete, timely and regularly updated to provide a reliable reflection of the Assembly’s development activities and interventions.
The platform will also serve as an important source of information for accessing official development data nationwide, thereby supporting planning, monitoring, reporting, assessment and evidence-based decision-making.
