Day Three of the 2025 Cocoa City Experience brought an exciting blend of culture, heritage, and adventure as participants embarked on a guided tourism tour to two of Sefwi Wiawso’s most treasured attractions, the Subre Deity and the Kokoyaa Waterfalls.

The tour was aimed at showcasing the rich cultural identity and untapped tourism potential of the Municipality as part of efforts to brand Sefwi Wiawso as Ghana’s Cocoa City.

A large delegation made up of tourists, students, traditional leaders, Assembly officials, the local tourism fraternity, and community members joined the expedition.

The first stop was the Subre Deity, a sacred site known for its deep cultural significance to the Sefwi people. Tour participants were taken through the historical background of the deity, learning about its role in the spiritual life of the community, its connection to the land, and its contribution to peace and unity among the people.

Custodians of the site demonstrated traditional rites, shared stories passed down through generations, and encouraged visitors to appreciate the importance of preserving traditional heritage. Many participants described the experience as “educational, sacred, and culturally enriching.”

The second highlight of the day was the breathtaking Kokoyaa Waterfalls, a natural attraction nestled within the serene landscape of the Municipality. Visitors enjoyed the refreshing scenery, took photos, and learned about the ecological importance of the site, including its role in promoting eco-tourism and environmental conservation.

Officials from the Municipal Assembly noted that incorporating tourism into the Cocoa City Experience is strategic, as it expands economic opportunities for local communities and promotes Sefwi Wiawso as a destination for culture, nature, and cocoa heritage.

Participants expressed excitement about the experience, commending the Assembly for promoting local tourism and drawing attention to hidden gems within the Municipality.

With more activities lined up in the coming days, the Cocoa City Experience continues to energize residents and visitors alike, strengthening community pride and showcasing the best of Sefwi Wiawso to Ghana and the world.
