GHANA TOURISM AUTHORITY SUPPORTS COCOA CITY EXPERIENCE WITH CASH DONATION

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has provided financial support to the Cocoa City Experience in Sefwi Wiawso, reinforcing its commitment to promoting local tourism and celebrating the municipality’s rich cocoa heritage.
The donation was made on behalf of the Authority by the Western North Regional Director of GTA and was officially received by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dominic Gyasi. Speaking during the handover, the Regional Director praised the Assembly for organizing the festival, highlighting its role in attracting tourists, boosting local businesses, and showcasing Sefwi Wiawso as Ghana’s “Cocoa City.”
Hon. Gyasi expressed gratitude for the timely support, noting that the funds would help enhance the planning and execution of the festival, ensuring a memorable experience for residents and visitors alike. He reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to promoting cocoa heritage, culture, and tourism as key drivers of local economic growth.
The Cocoa City Experience, now a flagship cultural festival in Sefwi Wiawso in the Western North Region, features music performances, art and food exhibitions, cultural displays, and community activities that celebrate the identity and achievements of the cocoa-rich Municipality.
