HON. DOMINIC GYASI CLIMAX ENGAGEMENT FOR THE PREPARATION OF 2026–2029 MTDP WITH SEFWI WIAWSO ZONAL COUNCIL

The Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Dominic Gyasi, on Monday 19th May, 2025 officially climaxed the stakeholder engagement session with the Sefwi Wiawso Zonal Council as part of ongoing preparations for the 2026–2029 Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP).


The engagement, held at Municipal Assembly hall, brought together Traditional Authorities, Assembly members, unit committee representatives, youth and women’s groups, civil society actors, and other key stakeholders within the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality. The objective of the meeting was to solicit community input and foster inclusive planning to ensure that the next development agenda reflects the true needs and aspirations of the people.


Hon. Gyasi emphasized the importance of participatory development, stating, “Development planning must be inclusive and bottom-up. We are committed to ensuring that no community is left behind as we chart the course for sustainable growth and transformation between 2026 and 2029.”


During the session, representatives from the Zonal Council outlined priority areas such as infrastructure development, access to good roads, improved educational facilities, and sustainable agriculture. Hon. Gyasi assured participants that their concerns would be incorporated into the MTDP and echoed the government’s dedication to aligning local development strategies with National goals.


Stakeholders commended Hon. Gyasi for his proactive leadership and commitment to transparency and accountability. Traditional leaders, in particular, praised the initiative, describing it as a vital step toward deepening democracy and local governance.
