The Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, has commissioned a three-unit classroom block at Penakrom–Nyamebekyere to improve access to quality education and enhance teaching and learning in the community.
The facility is a legacy project that was initiated by the previous NDC government but was left unattended when the NPP administration took over power. The project has now been completed by the same NDC government that originally started it, bringing much-needed relief to pupils, teachers, and residents of the area.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Dominic Gyasi emphasized the importance of completing inherited projects to ensure that public resources are not wasted and communities receive the benefits intended for them. He noted that the completion of the classroom block reflects the government’s commitment to continuity, accountability, and the prioritization of education.
The MCE encouraged pupils to take their studies seriously and urged teachers to continue giving off their best to improve academic performance. He also appealed to the community to take collective responsibility for the maintenance of the facility to ensure its long-term use.
Traditional leaders, parents, teachers, and community members present at the ceremony expressed appreciation to the government and the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly for completing the long-awaited project. They described the classroom block as a major boost to education in the area and pledged their support in protecting the facility.
