Hon. Dominic Gyasi has commissioned the newly rehabilitated Nurses’ Quarters at Sefwi Bechiwaa on behalf of the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Kofi Benteh Afful.
The rehabilitation project was undertaken to address the poor and unsafe conditions of the old quarters, where nurses reportedly faced serious challenges, including disturbances from snakes and other animals. The deteriorated state of the facility posed risks to the safety and wellbeing of the health personnel.
Speaking at the brief ceremony, Hon. Dominic Gyasi emphasized that the provision of safe and decent accommodation for health workers is essential for effective healthcare delivery. He noted that improving living conditions for nurses not only enhances their morale but also helps attract and retain qualified professionals in rural communities.
He conveyed the assurances of Hon. Kofi Benteh Afful, the sponsor of the project, of his continued support for initiatives aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure and enhancing the overall welfare of frontline workers.
Health staff and community members expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful. They noted that the new and improved quarters would provide a secure and comfortable environment, enabling nurses to focus fully on delivering quality healthcare services to residents of Sefwi Bechiwaa and its surrounding communities.
