The Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, has cut the sod for the construction of a new Junior High School block at Nyamendae, bringing renewed hope to pupils who currently study in a dilapidated wooden structure.

For years, the deteriorated structure has posed safety risks and created an environment that is unconducive to effective teaching and learning. The new JHS block is therefore expected to greatly improve the quality of education and safety of students in the community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Gyasi reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to providing modern and secure educational infrastructure across the municipality. He stressed that the project will help eliminate the challenges associated with the existing structure and motivate both teachers and students to excel academically.

The project, which is part of the Assembly’s broader development plan, is expected to be finished within six months. Community leaders, teachers, parents, and residents praised the initiative, calling it long overdue and vital for their children's future. They also committed to working together to ensure the project's smooth progress.

Construction works are set to commence immediately, marking a major step toward transforming education in Nyamendae.
