The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, has distributed various income-generating items, cash support and assistive devices to Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) in the Municipality to improve their livelihoods, health and mobility.

Items distributed included fufu pounding machines, deep freezers, freezers, industrial sewing machines, wheelchairs and other assistive devices. Some beneficiaries also received financial support to assist with their health needs.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Dominic Gyasi encouraged beneficiaries to make good use of the support and use the items for their intended purposes to improve their living conditions and promote self-reliance.

Hon. Gyasi also announced that the Government has increased the allocation for Persons Living with Disabilities under the District Assemblies Common Fund from 3% to 5%, demonstrating its commitment to improving support for PWDs and promoting their socio-economic well-being.

He further disclosed that the Assembly has plans to establish a specialised school for Persons Living with Disabilities in the Municipality to provide appropriate educational, vocational and skills-development opportunities.

Hon. Dominic Gyasi stressed the need to empower PWDs to become self-reliant and active contributors to the development of the Municipality. He also called on stakeholders and development partners to support initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of Persons Living with Disabilities.

Speaking on behalf of GFD, the President, Mr. Isaac Nkuah expressed their appreciation to the Municipal Assembly and Hon. Dominic Gyasi for the support and pledged to put the items, financial assistance and assistive devices to good use.

It's inspiring to see Hon. Dominic Gyasi's comprehensive approach, from distributing income-generating items to increasing the PWD allocation to 5%. The plan to establish a specialized school is particularly impactful, as it addresses long-term empowerment through education and skills. This shows a real commitment to development, making me think about how essential such initiatives are for societal progress, far more than just finding entertainment like unblocked games 66.
