Hon. Dominic Gyasi, Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, together with his management, has engaged stakeholders of the Asawinso Market to discuss the identification of a new trading location to pave the way for the construction of the proposed 24-hour economy market.
The engagement brought together market women, traders, transport operators, and other key stakeholders to deliberate on suitable alternative sites where trading activities can continue during the construction phase. The meeting aimed at ensuring minimal disruption to livelihoods while preparing the grounds for the commencement of the project.
Hon. Gyasi emphasized the importance of cooperation from all stakeholders, noting that the relocation exercise is a necessary step towards the realization of a modern and well-structured 24-hour market that will significantly boost economic activities in the area.
Following the engagement, a suitable site was identified and agreed upon to serve as a temporary market space for traders. The new location is expected to provide a convenient and accessible environment for business operations throughout the construction period.
He assured the traders that the Assembly remains committed to supporting them during the transition and will continue to engage all stakeholders to address concerns and ensure a smooth relocation process.
Stakeholders expressed appreciation for the consultative approach and pledged their full support towards the successful implementation of the project, recognizing its long-term benefits to the Municipality.
