The Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, has met with teaching and non-teaching staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality to address the growing concern of examination malpractices.

The engagement, held today, Friday, 8th August 2025, follows a recent directive from the Ministry of Education cautioning all educational staff to refrain from aiding or abetting any form of malpractice during examinations.

Upon receipt of the Ministry’s letter, the MCE earlier convened a Municipal Education Oversight Committee (MEOC) meeting to deliberate on the matter. Subsequently, he summoned Head teachers within the Municipality to reinforce the warning and emphasize the need for strict adherence to examination regulations.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Gyasi stressed that examination malpractices undermine the integrity of the education system and erode public confidence in academic qualifications. He urged both teaching and non-teaching personnel to uphold the highest ethical standards, reminding them that their roles as educators go beyond the classroom and extend to safeguarding the credibility of Ghana’s education.

He further cautioned that anyone found complicit in such acts would face the full rigours of the law, as the Assembly remains committed to promoting quality and fair education for all.

Participants welcomed the MCE’s engagement and pledged to work collectively to ensure malpractice-free examinations, thereby protecting the integrity of the Municipality’s academic records and supporting the Nation’s quest for educational excellence.
