MINISTRY OF FINANCE CONDUCTS COMPOSITE BUDGET MONITORING EXERCISE IN SEFWI WIAWSO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly on Wednesday 10^th June, 2026 received officers from the Ministry of Finance who conducted a Composite Budget Monitoring exercise at the Assembly.

The exercise was aimed at assessing the Assembly’s self-assessment scores on key performance indicators to determine whether they accurately reflect the Assembly’s performance and compliance levels.

Following the assessment, the officers observed that the Assembly had performed well in its self-assessment. However, they provided some recommendations to further strengthen budgeting processes, enhance compliance, and improve overall financial management systems.

The monitoring exercise also provided an opportunity for technical engagement between the officers and Budget Committee Members of the Assembly, where issues relating to budget preparation, implementation, and reporting were discussed to enhance efficiency and accountability in public financial management.

The Assembly expressed its appreciation to the monitoring team and indicated its commitment to adopting the recommendations to further enhance budget preparation, implementation, and reporting processes.
