The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, has inspected the Dwenase By-Pass road project, which has remained abandoned for several months despite its strategic importance to the community.

The bypass, a new road project initiated by the Municipal Assembly, was designed to serve as an alternative route to ease traffic congestion at Dwenase, particularly on market days. The road was expected to significantly reduce congestion, improve mobility, and support economic activities in the area.

However, construction stalled shortly after the project began, leaving the stretch unattended and raising concerns among residents and road users. The incomplete road has since remained a challenge, especially on days when commercial activity within the township intensifies.

During his visit, Hon. Gyasi expressed concern about the prolonged abandonment and tasked the Roads engineers to provide detailed updates on the situation and the way forward. He stressed the need for urgent action, noting that the by-pass is a critical intervention needed to decongest the area and improve transportation flow.

The MCE assured the public that the Assembly will prioritize resolving the issues surrounding the project and ensure that work resumes promptly. He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to improving road infrastructure across the Municipality for the benefit of residents.
