The Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, has inspected ongoing preparatory works at a temporary site designated for traders at Asawinso, as part of efforts to facilitate their relocation for the construction of a proposed 24-hour market.

The relocation of market women and men from the existing trading area has become necessary to pave way for the commencement of the market project, which forms part of broader initiatives to enhance commercial activities and improve market infrastructure within the Municipality.

During the inspection, Hon. Dominic Gyasi assessed the grading works currently underway at the new site to ensure that the area is adequately prepared to support smooth trading operations. The visit also sought to ensure that the temporary location meets the required standards to minimize disruptions to business activities.

The MCE reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and well coordinated relocation process, emphasizing that the welfare of traders remains a top priority. He noted that measures are being put in place to create a conducive environment for trading at the temporary site.

He further indicated that the initiative is aimed at improving market conditions and expanding economic opportunities for traders and residents in Asawinso and the municipality at large.
