The Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, on Thursday, 1st May 2025, joined residents of Mile 5 in a communal labour exercise aimed at supporting the community’s educational infrastructure.

The event saw active participation from the youth, elders, and community leaders, and focused on the construction of a teachers’ bungalow, an initiative widely praised as a significant step toward improving the area’s educational conditions.

In his address, Hon. Gyasi commended the residents for their unity and commitment to development through self-help initiatives. He described their efforts as laudable and urged other communities within the Municipality to emulate the example set by Mile 5. He also pledged support in the form of roofing sheets and other building materials should the need arise.

During the visit, the MCE engaged with residents to listen to their concerns and reassured them of the Assembly’s continued commitment to addressing local challenges through inclusive planning and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Residents expressed appreciation for Hon. Gyasi’s active participation in the construction effort, noting that his presence boosted morale and reinforced confidence in local leadership.

The day ended on a note of renewed optimism, with both leadership and residents pledging to sustain the momentum and remain focused on development.
