The Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, has met with officials of the National Road Safety Authority and the leadership of the Pragya Association to discuss measures aimed at improving road safety and transport organization within the Municipality.

The meeting was aimed at finding a lasting solution to the issue of Pragya riders using the road shoulders as their operating stations, a practice that poses a serious safety threat to both the riders and other road users. Discussions focused on identifying designated and safer locations where the riders can operate without obstructing traffic or endangering lives.

During the meeting, it was resolved that an area has been proposed for use as a permanent station for the Pragia riders. Following this resolution, the Municipal Chief Executive tasked the Assembly’s Technical Team to immediately commence work on the proposed site to ensure it is prepared for use.

Hon. Dominic Gyasi reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring safety, orderliness, and efficient transport management, and urged all stakeholders to cooperate fully with the Assembly and the Road Safety Authority to support the implementation of the agreed measures.

Officials of the National Road Safety Authority and the leadership of the Pragya Association expressed their appreciation for the intervention and pledged their readiness to collaborate with the Assembly to improve road safety in the Municipality.
