LUPSA HOLDS QUALITY ASSURANCE MEETING WITH SWMA PHYSICAL PLANNING DEPARTMENT


The Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority (LUPSA) on 29th July, 2024 held a Quality Assurance Meeting with the Physical Planning Department of the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly to review and enhance land use and spatial planning standards within the Municipality.

The meeting aimed to ensure compliance with proper planning regulations, improve land management strategies, and strengthen collaboration between LUPSA and the municipal authorities. Discussions focused on streamlining permit approvals, enforcing zoning regulations, and promoting sustainable urban development.

A representative from LUPSA emphasized the importance of quality assurance in spatial planning, stating, “Proper land use planning is key to orderly development and environmental sustainability. This meeting helps us align our strategies and ensure that planning decisions meet national standards.”

Officials from the Physical Planning Department shared insights on challenges facing land use regulation in the municipality and proposed innovative solutions to improve planning efficiency and enforcement.

The meeting concluded with commitments from both parties to enhance monitoring, improve coordination, and adopt digital tools for effective land management. Stakeholders expressed optimism that the collaboration would lead to better urban planning, reduced land disputes, and improved infrastructure development in Sefwi Wiawso.
