The Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, on Wednesday 10th September, 2025 held an engagement with artisans and garage operators in Sefwi Wiawso as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the Assembly and local stakeholders.
The meeting created a platform for the MCE to listen to the concerns of the garage operators, particularly challenges affecting their work such as access to land, inadequate infrastructure, and the need for skills development and capacity-building opportunities.
Hon. Gyasi commended the artisans for their contributions to local economic growth through job creation, skills transfer, and service delivery. He emphasized that the Assembly recognizes the vital role garages play in supporting transportation and commerce within the municipality.
He assured the operators that their concerns would be given due consideration in the Assembly’s development planning and pledged to explore ways of providing an enabling environment for their work.
The MCE also encouraged the artisans to organize themselves into stronger associations to better position themselves for support and collaboration with both the Assembly and external partners.
The engagement, according to officials, forms part of Hon. Gyasi’s broader stakeholder consultation drive aimed at fostering inclusive governance and ensuring that development initiatives reflect the needs of the people.
