MCE, FEEDER ROADS OFFICIALS INSPECT ASAWINSO–KOJINA–ESSAKROM ROAD

The Municipal Chief Executive of Sefwi Wiawso, together with officials from the Department of Feeder Roads, on Monday, 15th September 2025, conducted an inspection and inventory of the Asawinso–Kojina–Essakrom road.

The road has been captured under President John Dramani Mahama’s Big Push Agenda and is yet to commence construction. When the project begins, the road will be tiled to ensure durability and enhance accessibility for local residents.

During the inspection, the MCE explained that the inventory exercise is an essential first step in planning, as it will guide the technical and logistical preparations. He added that once completed, the road project will greatly ease transportation challenges and stimulate social and economic activities in the communities of Asawinso, Kojina, Essakrom, and Attakrom, which share a boundary with the Juaboso District.

The Feeder Roads Department officials explained that the inventory-taking will document existing conditions of the road and collect baseline data to guide construction execution phases.

Residents of the affected communities expressed hope that construction will start soon, noting that the current poor road conditions have long impeded movement of goods, access to services, and economic growth.

The Asawinso–Kojina–Essakrom road is one of several infrastructure interventions under President Mahama’s Big Push Agenda, intended to reinforce connectivity and development across Ghana.
