The Municipal Chief Executive of Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, has commended residents of Adewano and Mile-3 for their dedication to community development through self-help initiatives. The MCE made the remarks during an inspection tour of ongoing projects in the two communities.
In Adewano, community members are undertaking the construction of a teachers’ accommodation facility to improve the living conditions of educators posted to the area. The initiative aims to attract and retain qualified teachers, thereby enhancing the quality of education in the community.
At Mile-3, residents are building a 3-Unit classroom block with an office and store to replace a dilapidated and inaccessible classroom block. The new facility is expected to ease congestion in existing classrooms and provide a more conducive learning environment for pupils.
Hon. Gyasi lauded the efforts of both communities, describing their initiatives as a testament to the power of unity and local action. He pledged the Assembly’s support to ensure the successful completion of the projects, noting that such self-help undertakings complement the government’s development agenda.
“These projects show what we can achieve when communities come together with a shared vision. As an Assembly, we are committed to providing the necessary technical and logistical support to help you complete them,” the MCE assured.
Community leaders from both Adewano and Mile-3 expressed gratitude for the MCE’s visit and his pledge of support, adding that the projects have brought residents together with a renewed sense of purpose and cooperation.
