The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, has inspected ongoing repair works on the Asafo–Asawinso road, being carried out by the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly using the District Roads Improvement Programme (DRIP) machines.

The visit formed part of the MCE’s regular monitoring activities aimed at ensuring that essential infrastructure within the municipality is properly maintained and that residents benefit directly from the Assembly’s development initiatives.

During the inspection, Hon. Dominic Gyasi expressed satisfaction with the progress of work and commended the DRIP operators’ team for their dedication and technical effort in improving the condition of the road.

The Asafo–Asawinso road serves as an important route linking several communities to major markets and service centers within the municipality. Its deteriorated state had long posed challenges for motorists, farmers, and traders, especially during the rainy season. The ongoing repair works are therefore expected to bring significant relief to road users and improve transportation flow in the area.

Hon. Gyasi reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring continuous maintenance of critical roads across the municipality. He added that the Assembly will continue to utilize its available resources and equipment, such as the DRIP machines, to respond promptly to infrastructure concerns affecting communities.

Residents of Asafo, Asawinso, and nearby communities have lauded the MCE and the Assembly for their proactive approach, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.
