The Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, on Sunday, 9th November, 2025 joined a group of concerned residents of Sefwi Ewiase to fill potholes along a stretch of road near the old police barrier, an area that had deteriorated into a very deplorable state.
According to the MCE, the exercise was a temporary community-led intervention aimed at improving road safety and easing movement for motorists and pedestrians. He explained that after several engagements with officials from the Ghana Highways Authority, it was confirmed that plans are well advanced to permanently fix the affected road network.
“However, considering the immediate risks and inconvenience the situation continued to pose to motorists and pedestrians, we took it upon ourselves to undertake this temporary measure,” the MCE said.
He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all residents who participated in and supported the communal activity, describing their efforts as a true reflection of civic responsibility and unity of purpose.
“I want to assure the good people of our municipality of my unwavering commitment to serve diligently and always act in your best interests. Together, we will continue to find practical solutions to improve our communities,” he added.
