The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, on Thursday, 28th August, 2025,  begun a series of community engagement meetings, starting with Paboase and later extending to Akoti, Lawelkrom, Kwame Anninkrom, Bedii, and Aboanidua.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly, is aimed at deepening local governance, strengthening collaboration with residents, and addressing pressing community concerns through direct dialogue.

At each of the communities visited, Hon. Gyasi highlighted government’s interventions in areas such as education, health, agriculture, job creation, and infrastructure development. He assured residents that the Assembly remains committed to addressing challenges that affect their daily lives, especially poor roads, water supply, health facilities, and access to electricity.

The residents of the various communities expressed concerns about dilapidated roads, the extension of the School Feeding Programme to their schools, inadequate and dilapidated school facilities, the lack of modern health infrastructure, as well as the need for agricultural support and job creation.

In response, the MCE acknowledged the challenges and outlined steps being taken by the Assembly in collaboration with central government and development partners to tackle them. He assured residents that road improvement works would be undertaken in phases and encouraged them to exercise patience while ongoing processes materialize.

Hon. Gyasi also urged the youth across the communities to take advantage of government’s flagship initiatives in skills development and entrepreneurship, noting that empowering the youth is critical for sustainable growth and poverty reduction in the Municipality.

The engagements concluded with calls for unity and cooperation, with the MCE stressing that community ownership of development projects is vital for their success and sustainability.

The visits to Paboase, Akoti, Lawelkrom, Kwame Anninkrom, Bedii, and Aboanidua mark the first phase of the broader community engagement program which will continue in other parts of the Municipality in the coming weeks.
