SEFWI WIAWSO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY SUPPORTS PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES WITH ASSISTIVE DEVICES AND INCOME-GENERATING ITEMS

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly on Tuesday, 9th June successfully distributed income-generating items and assistive devices to persons with disabilities (PWDs) within the Municipality as part of efforts to promote inclusive development and social protection.
The support is aimed at empowering beneficiaries to become more independent, self-reliant, and economically active. The items provided will not only enhance their daily living but also create opportunities for sustainable income generation and improved livelihoods.
Speaking during the ceremony, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, the Municipal Chief Executive reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring that persons with disabilities are given equal opportunities to participate in socio-economic development. The initiative forms part of the Assembly’s ongoing efforts to improve the welfare of vulnerable groups and promote inclusion across all communities.
Among the items distributed were freezers, white canes, wheelchairs, crutches, fufu pounding machine, tomato and pepper grinders, industrial sewing machines, knitting machines, and cash support, etc.
