MTN Ghana has donated GH¢20,000 to the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly in support of the ongoing Cocoa City Experience, a week-long festival designed to celebrate cocoa heritage, promote tourism, and showcase the cultural and economic significance of Sefwi Wiawso as the “Cocoa City of Ghana.”

The donation was presented at the Municipal Chief Executives Office, where officials from MTN Ghana commended the Assembly for initiating an event that highlights the importance of cocoa to both the local and national economy.

Presenting the cheque, the MTN delegation noted that the company remains committed to supporting developmental, cultural, and tourism-related initiatives across the country. They described the Cocoa City Experience as a visionary programme that not only celebrates the history of cocoa but also creates opportunities for economic growth, youth engagement, and community development.

According to MTN officials, the donation reflects the company’s continuous support for communities in the Western North Region and its belief in leveraging partnerships to drive social impact.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Municipality, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, expressed profound gratitude to MTN Ghana for their timely support. He noted that the contribution would go a long way to enhance festival activities, logistics, publicity, and organization of key programmes lined up for the Cocoa City Experience.

Hon. Gyasi emphasized that MTN’s gesture demonstrates their commitment to corporate social responsibility and community partnership.

He added that the Cocoa City Experience is more than a festival, it is a platform to market Sefwi Wiawso as a tourism destination, promote local businesses, and honor the hardworking cocoa farmers who contribute significantly to Ghana’s economy.
