The Private School Association in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality has formally presented a petition to Hon. Dominic Gyasi, calling attention to a number of pressing challenges facing Private Schools in the Municipality.
Though the full content of the petition was not disclosed, the Chairman of the Association, who also serves as the Proprietor of Daddys and Mummy’s School revealed that the issues outlined in the document have been pending for years without redress.
“These are long-standing challenges that have been swept under the carpet for far too long,” the Chairman stated during the presentation. “We believe that now is the right time to raise our collective voice and seek support for reforms that will enable private schools to thrive and continue contributing meaningfully to the Municipality’s educational development.”
Hon. Dominic Gyasi, while receiving the petition, expressed his appreciation for the respectful and organized manner in which the association submitted their grievances. He commended the association’s leadership for their dedication to the cause of education and assured them of his willingness to act on the issues raised.
“I want to thank you for your respectful approach,” Hon. Gyasi said. “I recognize the value private schools bring to our communities. Rest assured, I will take immediate steps to address the concerns that can be resolved at the local level. As for matters that fall under National jurisdiction, I will ensure they are forwarded to the relevant authorities for the necessary attention.”
