The Municipal Chief Executive, for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, has announced plans by the Municipal Assembly to construct ultra-modern stalls at Sefwi Dwinase to accommodate traders currently operating in makeshift along the roadside.

The MCE disclosed this during a meeting with the traders, aimed at officially informing them of the Assembly’s development initiative. He explained that the planned project is part of efforts to decongest the roadside, improve trading conditions, and enhance both safety and sanitation in the central business town.

While the traders welcomed the news, some expressed concern about whether they would truly benefit from the project once completed. They questioned if the newly built stalls would be allocated to them or to outsiders.

Responding to these concerns, Hon. Gyasi emphatically assured them that they are the primary beneficiaries of the project.

“These stalls are being planned for you, the current occupants of the roadside spaces. If you have any doubts, you can even bring in a lawyer to represent you, and the Assembly will ensure everything is transparent and fair,” he stressed.

He further appealed to the traders to cooperate with the Assembly as the project moves from planning to implementation, noting that the new facility will not only provide a safer and more hygienic trading environment but also support the growth of local commerce.

The traders, after receiving the assurance, expressed their gratitude to the Assembly, describing the move as a welcome intervention that has been long overdue.
