SEFWI WIAWSO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY COMPLETES DISBURSEMENT OF LEAP GRANTS – 98TH CYCLE

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly, through its Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, has successfully completed the disbursement of grants under the 98th cycle of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme.

The payment exercise took place from Tuesday, October 21 to Thursday, October 23, 2025, during which beneficiary households across 29 communities within the municipality received their grants directly. In addition, beneficiaries from 9 other communities accessed their payments through designated financial institutions, ensuring an inclusive, transparent, and convenient process for all recipients.

Under this cycle, the payment structure was as follows:

One eligible household member: GHC 320.00

Two eligible household members: GHC 380.00

Three eligible household members: GHC 440.00

Four eligible household members: GHC 530.00

The LEAP programme continues to play a pivotal role in the municipality’s social protection agenda. It remains a vital instrument for reducing poverty, promoting social inclusion, and improving the overall well-being of vulnerable households within the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality.
