SEFWI WIAWSO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY CONDUCTS GHANA SCHOLARSHIP INTERVIEWS FOR APPLICANTS

On Monday, 1st September 2025, the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly, in partnership with the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, conducted interviews for scholarship applicants from across the Municipality. The exercise took place at the Municipal Assembly Hall.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, chaired the interview panel, which was made up of officers from the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat alongside other invited panel members. The entire process, which started with an online application stage and concluded with the face-to-face interviews, was described as highly efficient, transparent, and credible.

A key highlight of this year’s exercise was the use of electronic scoring. Panel members assessed applicants digitally, making the process technology-driven. This innovation not only fast-tracked the interviews but also ensured accuracy in scoring and reduced paperwork.

The scholarship initiative is designed to ease the financial burden on parents while creating opportunities for brilliant but needy students in the Municipality to further their education and pursue their career aspirations.

Applicants present commended the Scholarship Secretariat and the Municipal Assembly for decentralizing the exercise. They noted that organizing the interviews locally saved them both time and money that would otherwise have been spent traveling outside the Municipality.

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly reiterated its dedication to promoting education as a vital tool for development and pledged to ensure that such opportunities remain available to all deserving students in the Municipality.
