The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly has taken delivery of its allocation of birds under the Government’s “Nkoko Nketenkete” Programme, aimed at boosting local poultry production and improving livelihoods.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, received the consignment on behalf of the Municipality from the Hon. Western North Regional Minister during a brief presentation ceremony.

The consignment, received as part of the rollout of the initiative in the Western North Region, is expected to support beneficiaries within the Municipality, particularly farmers, women, and youth groups engaged in poultry farming.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive indicated that the programme forms part of broader efforts to enhance food security, create employment opportunities, and promote economic empowerment at the local level. He further assured that transparent and equitable distribution mechanisms would be employed to ensure that the intended beneficiaries fully benefit from the initiative.

The “Nkoko Nketenkete” Programme, which seeks to increase poultry production across the country, is anticipated to contribute significantly to household incomes and improve nutritional standards within the Municipality.
