SWMA AND INSTITUTE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT STUDIES ORIENT NEWLY ELECTED ASSEMBLY MEMBERS AND GOVERNMENT APPOINTEES


The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS), has organized an orientation program for newly elected Assembly Members and Government Appointees to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills for effective local governance.


The two-day orientation aimed to enhance the understanding of participants on local government structures, roles, and responsibilities, as well as key policies and regulations that guide decentralized governance. It also covered topics such as budgeting, community engagement, revenue mobilization, and decision-making processes.


Speaking at the event, the Municipal Coordinating Director highlighted the importance of the training, stating, “This orientation is crucial in ensuring that our Assembly Members and Appointees are well-prepared to serve their communities effectively and contribute to the municipality’s development.”
