SWMA CELEBRATES MAY DAY IN SEFWI WIAWSO

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly joined workers from various institutions across the Municipality to commemorate this year’s Workers’ Day, observed nationwide on May 1, 2026.


The celebration commenced with a colourful float along the principal streets of Dwinase, attracting participation from public and private sector workers and showcasing unity and solidarity among the workforce.


The procession was followed by a well-attended durbar at the Glikstens Park, where a number of dignitaries addressed participants. Speakers at the event included the Western North Regional TUC Chairman, the Regional CLOGSAG Secretary, the Municipal Chief Executive of Sefwi Wiawso, and the Western North Regional Minister, who delivered the keynote address.


In their remarks, the speakers commended workers for their dedication and contributions to the development of the Municipality and the nation. They further encouraged workers to remain committed, disciplined, and collaborative in the discharge of their duties.


The event brought together workers from diverse sectors, highlighting the importance of unity, hard work, and collective responsibility in driving sustainable development within the Municipality.


Workers’ Day is celebrated annually to honour the contributions of workers and to promote their welfare and rights.
