The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly (SWMA) has initiated a data collection exercise on rateable items to update and enhance its existing records from 5th to 26th September 2024. This initiative aims to improve revenue mobilization, ensure fair taxation, and enhance service delivery within the Municipality.
The exercise focuses on identifying and documenting rateable properties, businesses, and other taxable assets to create a more efficient and transparent revenue system. The collected data will help the Assembly streamline tax Administration, enhance property valuation, and ensure equitable distribution of Municipal resources.
Trained field officers will conduct the data collection through surveys, digital mapping, and property assessments. Property and business owners are urged to cooperate with the teams, as the initiative seeks to promote accountability and sustainable development in the municipality.
The SWMA assures all stakeholders that the information gathered will be handled with confidentiality and used solely for developmental purposes. This initiative is a crucial step toward strengthening local governance and ensuring efficient municipal service delivery in Sefwi Wiawso.
