The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly has held its 2026 First Ordinary General Assembly Meeting, bringing together Hon. Assembly Members, Heads of Department, and key stakeholders.
The meeting, presided over by the Presiding Member, Hon. Evan Ackaah served as an important platform for reviewing the Assembly’s performance, assessing ongoing programmes, and taking key decisions to enhance local governance and service delivery.
In his opening remarks, the Presiding Member welcomed members and emphasized the need for unity, active participation, and constructive engagement in addressing developmental challenges and advancing the Assembly’s agenda.
A major highlight of the meeting was the reading, discussion, and adoption of the minutes of the previous meeting, which was unanimously approved by the House.
The Municipal Chief Executive’s Sessional Address was also presented, outlining key achievements, ongoing projects, and the strategic direction of the Assembly. The address was subjected to thorough deliberations by members before it was adopted.
The Assembly further considered the Executive Committee’s Report, which contained recommendations from the various sub-committees. Following detailed discussions, the report was approved by the House.
Additionally, the Presiding Member presented issues to the House, providing members the opportunity to raise concerns, share ideas, and propose solutions to challenges within their respective electoral areas.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from members to work collaboratively to promote the development of the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality and improve the socio-economic well-being of its residents.
