SWMA HOLDS TECHNICAL SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly convened a Technical Sub-Committee meeting on Thursday, 29th August 2025, at the Municipal Assembly Hall. The meeting brought together all committee members to deliberate on key developmental issues within the Municipality.

Prior to the sitting, the committee carried out inspections of building projects across the Municipality to determine which qualified for the issuance of permits. The exercise was aimed at ensuring that all projects meet the required standards and align with the Assembly’s development priorities.

During the meeting, members also discussed strategic measures for the preparation of local plans for three rapidly growing communities Asawinso, Asafo, and Boako. The preparation of these plans is expected to guide orderly development, provide a framework for land use, and ensure that future infrastructural expansion in these areas is well-coordinated.

The deliberations stresses the Assembly’s commitment to sustainable development and effective planning as the Municipality continues to experience population and infrastructural growth.

The meeting ended with a call for close collaboration among departments and stakeholders to accelerate the process of preparing the local plans and strengthening monitoring mechanisms for ongoing projects.
