SWMA HOSTS ENTRY CONFERENCE TO WELCOME WESTERN NORTH REGIONAL COORDINATING COUNCIL ASSESSMENT TEAM

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly has officially welcomed an assessment team from the Western North Regional Coordinating Council (WNRCC) as part of their routine monitoring and evaluation program for Municipal and District Assemblies in the region.
The Entry Conference, held at the Assembly hall, marked the beginning of a comprehensive assessment of the Assembly’s performance for the first and second quarters of 2025. The monitoring exercise is aimed at ensuring effective governance, accountability, and improved service delivery within the Municipality.
During the exercise, the WNRCC team will evaluate key operational and administrative areas of the Assembly, including:
Planning,
Administration and Coordination
Procurement Management
Budgeting and Financial Management
Asset Management
Physical and Spatial Planning services
Environmental Health and Sanitation and climate action
Social Protection, Gender, and Nutrition
The team will engage with heads of departments, inspect records, and review the implementation of projects and programs. Special attention will be given to compliance with statutory requirements, efficiency in resource use, and the impact of the Assembly’s activities on community development.
Speaking at the entry conference, the Municipal Coordinating Director expressed the Assembly’s readiness to cooperate fully with the monitoring team. They highlighted the importance of such periodic assessments in identifying strengths, addressing weaknesses, and aligning local governance with national development priorities.
The monitoring exercise is expected to culminate in an exit conference, where the assessment team will present its findings, commend best practices, and recommend measures for improvement.
