The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly has successfully observed the November edition of the National Sanitation Day, a monthly nationwide cleanup exercise held on the first Saturday of every month.
The exercise was led by the Hon. Dominic Gyasi, Municipal Chief Executive of Sefwi Wiawso, together with staff of the Assembly, community members, and partner institutions. It was simultaneously observed across all six zonal councils within the Municipality, with participants actively engaging in sweeping, desilting of gutters, and clearing refuse from public spaces, markets, and major streets.
Supervised by the Municipal Environmental Health Unit, the exercise formed part of the Assembly’s ongoing commitment to promote cleanliness, improve sanitation, and safeguard public health.
The National Sanitation Day initiative was instituted by the President of the Republic of Ghana to encourage active citizen participation in maintaining clean surroundings and to foster a culture of environmental responsibility across the country.
Hon. Dominic Gyasi commended all participants for their dedication and urged residents to continue observing good sanitation practices daily.
