The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly on 9th September 2025, opened tenders for four key projects in the Municipality aimed at boosting education, healthcare, and access to clean water. The exercise, spearheaded by the Procurement Unit, marks the first stage of the procurement process, where officials verify the requisite documentation submitted by various bidders.

The tender opening is not an award of contract but rather the initial step to ensure transparency and compliance. The process will next move into the evaluation stage, where the Tender Evaluation Panel constituted by the Municipal Coordinating Director, will thoroughly examine and validate the documents, through the eligibility, technical and Financial Stages and make recommendations to the Entity Tender Committee for consideration.

The four projects include:

1.      Construction and Furnishing of a 3-Unit Classroom Block at Nyamendae — with an office, store,

toilet facilities, and a female changing room.

2.     Construction and Furnishing of a CHPS Compound at Essakrom-Kojina — including a 3-bedroom

staff apartment for health workers.

3.    Completion of a 2-Storey Maternity Block at Sefwi Wiawso Government Hospital — to enhance

maternal and child healthcare delivery.

 4.    Drilling and Mechanization of 10 Boreholes — in ten selected communities across the Municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive had earlier emphasized the need for all procurement procedures to strictly adhere to the Public Procurement Act to ensure fairness, transparency, and value for money.

Once completed, these projects are expected to significantly improve educational infrastructure, healthcare access, and the provision of safe drinking water, thereby promoting sustainable development across the Municipality.
