The Statistical Department of the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly (SWMA) has embarked on a market reading exercise to collect data for the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the Municipality. This initiative aims to track changes in the prices of goods and services, providing essential economic data for inflation monitoring and policy formulation.
The exercise involves data collection on the prices of various consumer goods and services in local markets. The information gathered will contribute to the calculation of the Consumer Price Index, which serves as a key economic indicator used to measure inflation and assess the cost of living.
The Municipal Statistician, Mr. Seth Addae emphasized the importance of the exercise, stating, "Accurate market readings help in making informed economic decisions. This data will support policy planning, business strategies, and economic development within the Municipality."
